According to GoRVing, there are more than 16,000 campgrounds across America, ranging in style from rustic to luxurious. Of course, where travelers ultimately choose to go on vacation is a matter of geography and personal taste, but if you’re looking for a place to start narrowing down your search for a new summer camping destination, Guest Rated, the nation’s most thorough campground-specific consumer survey, identified 34 campgrounds in 2014.
Silver Lake Campground, June Lake, CA This bare-bones Forest Service campground is located next to Silver Lake in one of the most scenic locations in the eastern Sierra Nevada mountains. Often used as a base camp for fishing, boating, hiking ,and horseback riding trips, the campground has RV and tent sites, flush toilets, and bear-proof trashcans.
Beaver Dam Campground, Berwick, ME Located in southern Maine, this campground is situated on a 20-acre spring-fed pond, and offers boat and bicycle rentals as well as organized family activities for all ages, from crafts to fishing derbies. Bonus: it’s also pet friendly.
Jellystone Park Camp-Resort at Kozy Rest, Harrisville, PA This campground is one of the most highly rated parks in the Jellystone Park system.
